STUDENT EXHIBITION OF THE FACULTY OF VISUAL ARTS OF THE UNIVERSITY “MEDITERAN” PODGORICA

The annual exhibition of artworks by young artists, students of all modules of the Faculty of Visual Arts, created as a result of the teaching process, will be opened on Thursday, June 8 at 8 p.m. in the Gallery “Art”, JU Museums and Galleries Podgorica in Vučedolska Street. This year’s exhibition will mark the 17th anniversary of the founding of the “Mediterranean” University in Podgorica.

By exhibiting student works in the gallery space of the Capital City, the Faculty of Visual Arts, in addition to the tradition of developing new artistic practices and connecting different art forms, also establishes the principle of cooperation with important cultural institutions. The willingness of the Museums and Galleries of Podgorica to “host” the works of art faculty students this June speaks of institutional support in the promotion of artistic creativity of young people and its better communication with professionals and the general public, students of other faculties, as well as new generations of young students.

Art historian Petar Ćuković says in the introductory text of the catalog that “pedagogical work at our faculty, the Faculty of Visual Arts, University “Mediteran”, implies respect for both of the above-mentioned principles: “nourishing” the giftedness of students, but, at the same time, encouraging dedicated and permanent work” and adds that the exhibition One youth of one time “testifies to the enchanted movement in this triangle of giftedness, values and the ability to (self)reflect, being, in that way, also a testimony of one time…”.

The exhibition of student works will be open until June 30, and on Thursday, June 8 at 8 p.m., it will be officially opened by art historian and professor of the Faculty of Visual Arts, Petar Ćuković.
