ITB BERLIN 2018
For 2018 it is certainly trendy the demonstration of the successful application of new technologies in order to make the traveller’s journey easier and more relaxed. Online sales and promotion, a virtual travel through a destination, innovations in transportation such as a car driving without a driver, a “flying taxi” and the application of supersonic aircraft should offer new experience to the passengers and thus make every destination available to him. The application of the artificial intelligence for hotel booking purposes, smartphone penetration, personalized price policy adapted to the individual needs, are making the classic holiday packages fade into oblivion and in turn, these are lowering the costs. Various systems such as Uber and Spotify have made service personalization become a standard feature, and in the creation of consumer experiences the “one size – fits all” policy is abandoned and the “tailor-made” tours win over based on consumer demand. The earlier focus on ecology, sustainability and socially responsible business operations still continues to prevail, but the explosion of demand for luxury travel has filled the salon with newcomers. New destinations are at the forefront, especially the rapidly growing Asian countries, above all China, followed by Thailand, the Arab countries and the South American countries. A feast for the eyes, “shopping” of innovations”, a new experience – succinctly put – soothes the senses. Numerous contacts have been made with software companies in order to innovate the lectures delivered on the corresponding courses, as well as with the universities related to tourism and hotel industry. The latter is aimed at linking students and teachers via student and staff mobility exchange. We are especially excited about the cooperation with SWISS EDUCATION GROUP, which is recognized in Europe as having one of the best hospitality management chairs.
The fair was visited by Professor Silvana Đurašević, the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Andrea Kavarić, MSc and teaching assistant, and seven students.
