British professor, part of the team of the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica

Dr. Steven Hadley, an award-winning British researcher in the field of cultural policy and editor-in-chief of the international magazine Cultural Trends, based at De Montfort University in Leicester, has become a visiting professor at the “Mediterranean” University Podgorica, at the Faculty of Visual Arts. In addition to lectures, which will be delivered in a hybrid format, Dr. Hedley will provide professional support to the University in the development of the newly established Institute for Science, Culture and the Arts (ISCA). His engagement will also include participation in the drafting of strategic documents important for the development of cultural policies and creative industries, as well as strengthening the role of the University in scientific research, international and other research projects aimed at the exchange of knowledge, the improvement of competences and the intensification of international cooperation.

The cooperation of the ISCA team of the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica and Dr. Hedli started through the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends network, and was further strengthened during the ARSUM25 conference of Unimediteran, held in Kotor in April last year. This collaboration resulted in a series of joint initiatives, among which a special edition of an international magazine dedicated to Montenegro, as well as the translation of Dr. Hadli’s book into the Montenegrin language, stand out.

Both activities are in the preparation phase and are planned for 2026, which will be marked by significant anniversaries: 20 years of University “Mediterranean” Podgorica and 20 years of Montenegrin independence.
