Representative of the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica at the Compendium Conference in Luxembourg

Nataša Kraljević, Director of ISCA – Institute for Science, Culture and Art, and lecturer at the Faculty of Visual Arts, participated in the 2025 Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends, an international conference on cultural policies held in Luxembourg on October 16–17.

As an expert for Montenegro, a country that has been a member of this CoE network for cultural policy monitoring since 2022, Kraljević has contributed significantly to strengthening Montenegro’s presence in this field. Her efforts include organizing last year’s conference and gathering experts in Podgorica, in cooperation with the Capital City, the Ministry of Culture and Media, and with the support of the then-director of the Public Institution Museums and Galleries, Ivana Ćupić, who made it possible for the event to take place at the City Museum premises. This year’s conference, held at the National Library of Luxembourg, was titled “Watch it! – Freedom of Artistic Expression. Cultural Policies for Democracy”. The event was opened by the Minister of Culture Eric Tholl, Director of the National Library Claude Conter, and Chair of the Compendium Board Ana Villaroya from Spain.

Dedicated to the right to artistic freedom of expression, the conference brought together experts from across Europe, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, to exchange experiences and present examples of increasingly common restrictions on this right throughout the continent.

The Compendium General Assembly, held the following day at Bourglinster Castle, 17 km from Luxembourg City, served not only to adopt the annual report but also to present current projects and programs of network members. The meeting also focused on future activities, with particular attention to identifying ways to foster stronger collaboration and networking in the coming year.
