The Rector of the Meditaran University participated in the scientific conference in Bijela on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the visit of Franz Joseph Boka

Rector of the University Mediterranean Podgorica, prof. Dr. Savo Marković participated in the scientific conference entitled “150 years since the visit of Franz Joseph Boka: legal transfers and the legacy of the ABGB”, which was held on April 27, 2025 at the Carine Park Hotel in Bijela, Montenegro.

The conference brought together prominent legal and historiographic experts from the region, with the aim of discussing legal transfers, the reception of legal systems and the cultural-legal heritage of the Austro-Hungarian period in Boka Kotorska. Special attention is paid to the role of the General Civil Code (ABGB) and its long-term impact on legal systems in the region.

During one of the sessions, the Rector spoke about the importance of preserving legal and cultural heritage as the foundation of modern legal systems and regional cooperation in the field of legal science and education.

The event was organized by the Municipality of Herceg Novi, with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Montenegro
