University “Mediterranean” Podgorica in the cultural program of the Region of Pula
As part of the “Medea in the Cities” program of the Italian Astragali Theater in Lecce and the City Museum of Contemporary Art in San Cesario (San Cesario), in which our university participates through the activities of the Faculty of Visual Arts and the Faculty of Foreign Languages, a team of eight Montenegrin representatives, our professors, artists and representatives of cultural institutions of the Capital City, will stay in Leće (Lecce) from 20 to 24 X 2024, at the invitation of Italian colleagues in order to promote Montenegrin culture and art.
Acquaintance of the Italian audience with the Montenegrin cultural scene will be carried out through several activities:
- with the opening of the exhibition of illustrations of the play “Medea’s Desire” directed by Fabio Tolledi, students of the Faculty of Visual Arts, curator and professor Marija Džoganović,
- promoting the translation of the dramatic text “Medeja žudnja” by Toledi into the Montenegrin language, by professor and proofreader Milena Dragutinović,
- participation in the forum “Donne e Arte / Women in Art” in which Nataša Kraljević, head of the Office for International Cooperation and lecturer at the Faculty of Visual Arts, Marija Džoganović, dean of FVU, Ivana Ćupić, director of the Public Institution Museums and Galleries of Podgorica, will take part and Ana Medigović, producer at the City Theater in Podgorica,
- concert by jazz singer Marija Božović accompanied by musician and trumpet professor Stefan Bjeletić, who will perform accompanied by Italian musicians Mauro Tre and Roberto Gagliardi.
During her stay in Leće, Dragica Anđelić, MSc, head of the Quality Assurance Department, and Nataša Kraljević, MSc, will meet with the Rector of the University of Salento and agree on further steps of cooperation, started earlier, by joint participation in IPA cross-border cooperation programs ITA-AL-MNE.
The cooperation of the University “Mediterranean” Podgorica with Italian institutions officially began in 2023, with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the visit of 12 Montenegrin artists and representatives of cultural institutions to Leće https://aplusme.me/crnogorski-umjetnici-i-predstavnici-organizacija-u-kulturi-u-sluzbenoj-posjeti-italiji/ University “Mediterranean” and Faculty of Visual Arts through the program of horizontal cooperation, which is carried out in the subject Management in culture, and with the aim of researching the most suitable instruments for strengthening the cultural diplomacy of Montenegro, is dedicatedly working on the promotion and affirmation of the culture and art of this climate.
