Vice rector’s word

Dear students, honored colleagues,

Having been aware that the process of internationalization plays an important role not only when it comes to improving the quality of higher education but also when it comes to the development of the Montenegrin society as a whole, while keeping in mind the process of accession of Montenegro to the European Union and the necessity of creating an internationally competitive education system, the Mediterranean University since its inception in continuity, has been actively working on the process of internationalization, which is recognized as one of the strategic development goals.

In the earlier period, the University has made significant progress in this procedure, which resulted in establishing cooperation with the most prestigious and most eminent higher education institutions around the world, participation in a large number of scientific and research projects, intensive student, academic and administrative staff mobility, etc. Thanks to this fact, the University has implemented the most up-to-date standards in the field of higher education in order to create a modern, flexible and competitive education system.

The University has successfully completed about 20 projects in the framework of TEMPUS, Erasmus and Erasmus + calls, and in the previous period numerous structural projects (MED, SEE and cross-border programs) were realized, as well as one FP7 project. Also, a number of national projects have been implemented, supported by relevant institutions, ministries, etc.

The University “Mediterranean” continuously improves the process of mobility of students as well as of academic and administrative staff through participation in several exchange programs such as: Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus +, EUROWEB, SUNBEAM, CEEPUS, GLOBAL BUILDING, etc. in which over the past three years more than fifty students had the opportunity to stay at the most prestigious universities around the world. In addition, over thirty professors from the University “Mediterranean” had the opportunity to get involved in the realization of the teaching process at renowned foreign higher education institutions. The incoming and outgoing mobility of administrative staff was significantly intensified, hence administration officials had the opportunity to exchange experience with their colleagues from foreign universities.

Dear students, respected colleagues, we invite you to take an active part in mobility programs, thus opening many opportunities for you to study and train at the most prestigious universities around the world, travel and discover distant lands, cultures and traditions, meet new people and their customs and in view of that give their contribution to the internationalization of not only the University “Mediterranean”, but also the Montenegrin society as a whole.

Respectfully,
Doc. dr Anđela Jakšić- Stojanović, Vice-rector for international cooperation
